Mike Poulsen specialises in comparative study of ethnic concentrations and urban growth. An extensive research program focuses on the outcome of multicultural policies in the cities of Australia, New Zealand, Canada, United States and United Kingdom. Teaching is in the fields of urban governance, urban growth, ethnic communities and GIS. Within GIS the focus is on the environmental aspects of urban growth and the temporal modelling of social change.
